I am pleased to say that I loved it as much as the first time and here I am leaving you my “old” review as it translates perfectly what I felt this second time around. When I learned some months ago that Lucy Christopher would finally give us a sequel titled “Released” I ordered the book as soon as possible and… I decided a reread was in order. I was instantly smitten with that gorgeous and unconventional story. I read this book for the first time in 2016. STOLEN is her gripping story of survival, of how she has to come to terms with her living nightmare–or die trying to fight it. The unknowing object of a long obsession, Gemma has been kidnapped by her stalker and brought to the desolate Australian Outback. And before Gemma knows what’s happening, Ty takes her. Ty–rugged, tan, too old, oddly familiar–pays for Gemma’s drink. She steps away for just a second, to get a cup of coffee. Gemma, 16, is on layover at Bangkok Airport, en route with her parents to a vacation in Vietnam. A stunning debut novel with an intriguing literary hook: written in part as a letter from a victim to her abductor.
